Center for Global Engagement (CGE)
As Northwestern’s only program design and student support center dedicated entirely to improving students’ ability to make a difference in the global world, CGE offers a variety of opportunities and resources ranging from study abroad programs to student project consulting. It builds the capacity of young global leaders to cross borders and partner with new communities to produce responsible, sustainable solutions to shared global problems. CGE focuses on developing critical knowledge and understading of a complex world and enabling student initiatives through its Student Project Consulting Center.
Global Brigades (GB) is the world’s largest student-led international development organization. It empowers university students and young professionals nation-wide to provide communities in developing countries with sustainable solutions that improve quality of life while respecting local culture and improving the environment. GB offers volunteers the opportunity to participate in a variety of public health and development programs to relieve poverty. This multi-disciplinary approach offers communities a holistic model for strategic development.
GlobeMed is a national organization of university students building a movement to improve global health. It offers a comprehensive set of programs to educate, enable, and inspire our students across the country to understand growing inequities in global health and act to make an impact in the work of partner grassroots health organizations. Through engaging students to develop a critical education and work to support grassroots health organizations, GlobeMed members develop the skills and passion needed to be future leaders in global health.
Manna Project International (MPI)
MPI’s mission is to foster communities of young adults and encourage them to use their passions and education in service to communities in need. MPI works hand-in-hand with locals towards holistic community development through meaningful relationship building, multi-faceted development, and a grassroots approach that allows for an effective assessment of the needs and a widespread involvement in addressing them.
invites students at colleges across the country to be a part of the solution to global poverty. By running through the year, Nourish Chapters earn money to conduct . Over the summer, students from Nourish Chapters travel abroad to partner with local communities in implementing these solutions.
Think Impact (formerly Student Movement for Real Change) aims to answer poverty through the power of young leaders. it provides a comprehensive program to educate, empower, and support university students to identify development projects and social enterprises that offer sustainable solutions to health and education in developing communities. Its model relies on the initiative of students to identify and support development opportunities through community-based sustainable solutions.
